The Hollywood live-action version of the hit Japanese animation ‘Your Name‎’ has found a new director: Carlos López Estrada (‘Raya and The Last Dragon’ ‘Blindspot’).

The film’s director has changed three times, bringing in Marc Webb (‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ ‘(500) Days of Summer’) to direct the year before in 2019, and announcing Webb’s exit in 2020 in favor of Lee Isaac Chung (‘Minari’ ‘Liberation Day’) to direct and rewrite the script.

In 2021, it was revealed that Lee Isaac Chung had withdrawn from the film due to scheduling conflicts.

The real-life version of ‘Your Name’ script also has multiple versions, previously revealed plot: “An Indian woman and a Chicago man magically swap bodies, disaster strikes and the two have to meet and save their world”.

After Lee Isaac Chung joined the cast, the description of the main character was changed to “a young boy and girl”, still telling the story of them swapping bodies, trying to meet and save the world.

Estrada is also currently writing a new version of the show, which may change again.
