‘The Batman’ HBO Max spinoff ‘The Penguin’ picks up female lead: Cristin Milioti (‘Palm Springs’ ‘Made For Love’) will play Sofia Falcone.

The character is the daughter of Carmine Falcone, the villain played by John Turturro in ‘The Batman’, and she will join The Penguin in their fight for control of Gotham City.

The series features the return of Colin Farrell as title character The Penguin, with Craig Zobel (‘Mare of Easttown’ ‘Westworld’) directing the first two episodes and serving as executive producer.

Lauren LeFranc (‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ ‘Impulse’) wrote the script and served as operator, Farrell and film director Matt Reeves, producer Dylan Clark and others also served as executive producers.

‘Penguin’ follows the rise of The Penguin Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot in the Gotham City underworld.
