Disney streaming subscribers surpass Netflix, Disney+ expected to be profitable by the end of 2024

In the third quarter of 2022, Disney+ global subscribers have surged to 164.2 million as of Oct. 1, a jump of 12.1 million from the previous quarter and above market expectations of 9.3 million, according to media reports.

Together with Disney’s other streamers: Hulu, ESPN+ subscribers, Disney’s several major streamers have a total of 235.7 million subscribers worldwide, surpassing Netflix’s 223.1 million in the same quarter and Warner Bros. Discovery’s 95 million total HBO, HBO Max, Discovery+ subscribers.

Total Disney streaming subscriptions are expected to reach 300-350 million by the end of fiscal 2024, and Disney+ is expected to be profitable.
