According to media reports, the new chairman of the Oscar organizing committee Bill Kramer said that the Oscars next year, the 23 awards will get a live broadcast screen.
There were eight technical awards not featured on the telecast for this year’s ceremony: Best Original Score, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Documentary Short, Best Editing, Best Styling, Best Animated Short, Best Live Action Short, and Best Sound Editing.
“We are committed to hosting a ceremony that celebrates the artisans, the art, the science and the collaborative nature of filmmaking. That is the mission of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and hopefully we can celebrate all the components of filmmaking in an entertaining and engaging way.” So said the Oscar organizing committee in a statement.
Next year’s Oscars will be held on March 13, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
